Hook, Line and Sinker?

15 Mar

Our second successful workshop, which again was fully booked, was a Crochet workshop for beginners led by the wonderful Michelle Cresswell from Owl & Slipper and ably assisted by her friend Jen. She had brought along some wonderful starter packs consisting of a crochet hook and two balls of cotton yarn not to mention informative worksheets which I’ve found particularly useful since to remind myself of the basic stitches. Their calm, confident manner had us all believing in our creative abilities and much progress was made. Michelle had us drooling over the colours of her yarns and her examples of jug covers and crocheted bunting. Thank you ladies for some wonderful inspiration and I for one have become quite addicted to hooking! I heard a rumour that one workshop participant stayed up until 3am after the workshop in order to master the stitches!

I’m hoping Michelle will be back to run more workshops but in the meantime she is running two crochet workshops at the moment. One on Monday evenings in Cowfold and the other on Wednesday mornings at Steyning Tea Rooms. Details are below so do get in touch with her and try a class. Also some of us who went to the workshop will be practising the skills she has taught us at the Craft Café night on Monday.
