Lampshade Making Workshop

9 Aug

Looking for the perfect shade for your side lamp or your ceiling?

If you find shop-brought lampshades a little bland and uninspiring, then why not consider making your own?

Come and learn how to create your own bespoke shade in this workshop with Michelle Cresswell from Owl and Slipper. Bring fabric of your choice and she will show you how to transform it into a professionally finished rolled edge drum lampshade in just 2 hours. Choose between a 20cm or 30cm diameter drum shade for either £16 or £18 to be used as a table lamp or ceiling pendant. The workshop price includes all materials, in a kit, except for the outer fabric and of course tea and cake. You will want to re-shade all your lamps after this workshop!

You can also order extra kits from us (20cm drum shade kit £7, 30cm drum shade kit £9) for you to take away to complete.

Monday 3rd September 2012, 7.30-9.30pm at the Park Barn. Please email us if you would like a space at and we can send you a booking form.

Another donation of jewellery to Cancer Research

7 Aug

Last week I dropped off another large bag of new jewellery that we had made in the last few Craft Café evenings. As I hadn’t been for a while it had mounted up and totaled 6 pairs of earings, 9 brooches, 13 bangles and 2 necklaces – all up-cycled from broken jewellery. I hope they sell as well as the last lot we donated to Cancer Research as I was told that they had sold quickly! Do take a look in the Cancer Research store in East Street, Horsham.

Old bangles bound with colourful embroidery floss to update them.
