LEARN THE BASICS OF PATCHWORK QUILTING
with Victoria Coward from Cuddle Monsters
7.00-9.30pm (2 ½ hrs) at Brighton Road Baptist Church, Horsham
This is the perfect way to get involved in quilting or to re-discover it, so this absolute basics workshop is ideal for both beginners and more experienced sewers. You will learn about all the tools and the basic techniques to make a patchwork quilt by making this mug rug, 9” square ( 23cm x 23cm ) with Victoria Coward from Cuddle Monsters. In this workshop you’ll practice basic patchwork skills, accurately cutting and measuring fabric, sewing a 1/4inch seam and creating a simple patchwork mug rug to keep your tea and biscuits cosy. All materials will be supplied but you will need to bring some equipment.
Places: limited to 9 places
You will need to bring:
– – Your sewing machine (we do have some that you can use, please contact us)
– – A basic sewing kit (white thread, pins, small scissors, tape measure, unpicker, tailors pencil.)
– – Straight edged ruler, a tailors chalk or air erasable pen and fabric scissors OR a cutting mat, quilters ruler and rotary cutter.
