Testimonials

“I love my triple C nights…..coffee, cake and most importantly of all CRAFT.  Magadalen arranges a good variety of workshops and the tutors are all extremely knowledgeable.  Don’t worry about keeping up, that’s what is great about meeting up with like minded people they are always willing to help, share experiences or give just plain old fashioned advice and that’s what makes these evenings so enjoyable.   So, if you are thinking of coming along all I can say is what are you waiting for?!  You’ll have a great time and best of all learn a new craft…. Monday’s will never be the same.”   Sue, Horsham

“Make workshops are such fun and friendly evenings! My favourite aspect is being inspired by how different everyone’s creations are as they all bring their unique touch to the designs and it’s a treat to have a treasure box of materials to work with. The tutors have been excellent, very clear instructions, lots of encouragement and they manage to organise everything so that we finish our makes in the time available which I think is quite a feat. Magdalen creates a very welcoming atmosphere with the colourful bunting, pretty tablecloths and bone china for our tea and cakes which is a lovely touch. It’s great to have a thriving crafting community developing in Horsham – big credit to Magdalen and all the tutors for sharing their time, knowledge and enthusiasm to get it off the ground.” Clare, Horsham

“Initially I was a little apprehensive about going along to the Make workshops and Craft Cafe evenings as I don’t consider myself to be very crafty. However, I really enjoyed meeting new people and learning some new skills – all with tea and cake to boot. The tutors at the workshops are informative and friendly and are more than willing to share their expertise. The Craft Cafes are a wonderful excuse to have a bit of me-time with some like-minded people. For anyone considering coming along, I would highly recommend it. Hope to see you there!” Hannah, Horsham

“Thank you for a great evening last night – the cake pops were such fun to make and as always the evening was full of laughter and chatter and so well organised – thank you to everyone who made it possible.” Moira, Horsham

“Crafting can be quite lonely sometimes, it’s great to get out and meet like-minded people who share the passion. What I love the most are the little workshops Make organises! Thanks to Make I’ve now crocheted couple of baby blankets, made a button brooch or two, upcycled old jewellery for charity, made a pretty wire angel for our Christmas tree and my home has now couple of new lampshades too. Most importantly – I’ve had many lovely evenings with coffee, cake and great company!” Annely, Horsham

“I loved the needle felting, I’m in the process of making a snowman for my daughter – the needle felting bug is quite contagious clearly! I thought Jay was a great inspiration with her enthusiasm and took time to explain things at the very beginning to get everyone started. I was very happy with my Christmas pudding and Christmas tree, I have never tried needle felting before but know this is the beginning of a new hobby as I have already made little star decorations for our Christmas tree. Thanks so much Jay!” Victoria, Horsham

“I love craft and what Make offers is a crafter’s dream! There are so many varied workshops to choose from, all at extremely reasonable prices, and accompanied by tea and yummy cake too! Make is perfect for anyone who loves beautiful handmade things and who likes a good natter with fellow creative, crafty people.” Annalees, Southwater

“I cannot recommend Make enough to anyone who is thinking of joining. I have been going to the craft evenings and courses for nearly a year now and have enjoyed everyone. The choice of different courses covers a huge range of different craft skills. Even if you do not have previous experience it really doesnt matter and the  great thing is you meet so many other like minded people who are happy to pass on hints and tips or are there just to chat to over a cup of tea and cake. Make is a non-profit organisation and this really shows from the community spirited atmosphere, the incredible value for money courses and the way everything is organised to give 100 per cent enjoyment. I really recommend popping along to Make and seeing what its all about.” Kate, Rudgwick

“Thank you for a great evening last night – I am delighted with my wreath and it is now on my front door for everyone to see (and hopefully admire!!). Great venue, refreshments and company – what a wonderful way to spend an evening.” Moira, Horsham

“I’ve enjoyed coming to Make now for nearly a year. I am disabled and for me crafting is a huge part of my life. I’ve enjoyed coming along to various workshops (and enjoyed the cake a little too much!), which have often been purely social for me as I do so many crafts but that is the great thing about Make in that experienced crafters help out new people. As I’m disabled I worried about coming along as I often struggle but I needn’t have worried as so many people are there to help me out.” Kate, Horsham

“I have enjoyed each Make Workshop I have attended, I have found them friendly yet relaxing and doesn’t matter if you make a mistake – no one is worried. Not sure what my favourite one has been – probably the silk batik scarf as that was quite involved..Go along and try one out – you won’t regret it.”  Helen, Horsham

What our Tutors say;

“I am so pleased to be part of the Make projects in Horsham. I went along to the first workshop making fabric brooches with Button Becky and was inspired by the whole set up ; affordable classes, small group setting, a hall dressed in bunting, vintage tablecloths and beautiful china with our tea and cake!
I have since led several worshops at Make ,including lampshade making and beginners crochet. I have met some lovely ladies with a common desire for handmade when it comes to decorating, and giving.
Magdalen provides the perfect atmosphere each time and what I like is that you can come on your own , not knowing anyone , and all that changes within a course of 2 hours!”    Michelle from Owl & Slipper

“There are so many great things to say about Make! I have had the pleasure of being a tutor several times and enjoy it immensely. I would love to teach more crafty projects in the future and continue to be a part of this fantastic community project.”  Annalees from Makers and Creators

“Speaking as one of the tutors, I did my first workshop at Christmas teaching how to make door wreaths. Was slightly apprehensive as there were a lot of ladies signed up for the evening and I’m not one for public speaking! Had a really enjoyable evening with a lovely group of enthusiastic people. Would highly recommend Make workshops to anyone looking to learn a new skill in a friendly, welcoming environment. And there was cake, what more could you want?!” Alice from Blossom Flowers
